By the Light of the Fire is a short film that a friend of mine created and it featured in 2025’s Fright Fest at the Glasgow Film Festival. The film is a horror set in Teutoburg forest and is about the fallen soldiers of the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest in 9 AD that continue to haunt it. Luke Keogh wrote and directed this short and he was nice enough to let me design the title for the film. I decided to design an entire typeface that could be used on the poster, credits and any form of promotion for the film. I based the characters on ancient Roman type carvings from 9 AD. 

The typeface comes with alternate characters and every single character and punctuation mark has been kerned before and after with every other character. This was a very long process but one I am glad I tried as it was a great learning experience.
