Hex is an experimental typeface I built for fun. It started when I found a box of hex keys/allen keys in my garage and I thought it would be an interesting challenge to build a typeface using only these tools. I began laying out the hex keys and photographing them, designing every lower and uppercase character and numbers. Another part of the challenge was to use as few keys per character as possible.

I eventually designed a a vector hex key and started to create as many alterations per character as I could come up with. Then, I chose the best layout per letter/number and built a fully functioning font that can be downloaded in light, regular and bold cuts.
